2:35 p.m. - 2:55 p.m. | Why social media is a critical resource for professional finance? Five observations that may change the way you think about the power of social media content in financial services. Social media has quickly carved out a role for itself in financial services, reshaping how banks and other firms interact with customers, promote products, engage prospects and build their brands. What is less clear is whether social media has value for professionals focused on trading, portfolio management and investment strategy. The answer lies in how we think about social media. If we characterize it as a monolithic entity that includes every available platform, social media quickly becomes too unwieldy and unreliable to be helpful. If we narrow the focus to social media as a source of real-time, market-moving news, however, its value becomes much more apparent. Here are five observations that may change the way you think about the power of social media content in professional finance. Keynote: Peter Bailey, Chief Strategy Officer, Dataminr |
