Scott spent seven years as the Asia Pacific Global Banking & Financial Markets (GB&FM) Marketing Lead with BT. Scott has been involved representing GB&FM in Prosperity marketing initiatives and interventions and also has responsibilities for APAC Marketing activities for GB&FM Propositions such as BT Unified Trading, BT Radianz and Payments. The objective is to develop BT’s presence for the entire portfolio of core and GB&FM services with financial institutions in the region supporting Steve Rathborne and the APAC GB&FM teams. Scott joined BT as part of the Radianz acquisition in March 2005. He expanded Radianz’s footprint to include Developing Markets such as Korea, Taiwan, China, India UAE and Russia as part of BT Radianz’s infrastructure and cross-border trading strategy to provide secure, reliable and scalable connectivity to the financial community. Prior to joining BT Scott was APAC Deputy Managing Director at Moneyline Telerate, a Market Data vendor that was acquired by Reuters. He also had other key roles in market data and network services. During his career Scott has become familiar with Over-The-Counter (OTC) products such as FX, Fixed Income, Credit Derivatives, etc. where the trading does not take place on an exchange but through money brokers as well as exchange-traded financial products including fixed income, derivatives and commodities. Scott is a member of the Society of Technical Analysts and the FIX Protocol Limited industry groups. He is also versed in regulatory and network service provision issues. Scott has lived in Hong Kong and Singapore for over 25 years and currently resides in Singapore.

 

Phil Joslin

Head of Asia Business Development, BCS Financial Group

Philip Joslin founded Grimaud in February 2012, and began working there in July 2012.
Grimaud is a financial markets strategic business development consultancy based in Singapore. Prior to that he was a Senior Director for Clearing Sales Singapore and India for Newedge and had moved to Singapore in 2009 to set up the Eurex Office.

He is currently working as Head of Asia Business Development for BCS Prime Brokerage based in London, in charge of developing a client base and market knowledge for the Russian market and connectivity and to look at co operations with Brokerages to further market access for BCS’s clients in Asia.

Phil has been in the Financial Services Industry – Brokerage and Exchange and Risk Management for over 20 years in Europe and South East Asia.

Mr. Joslin holds a bachelor’s degree in history and literature from Franklin University in Lugano, Switzerland. He is a permanent resident of Singapore and is an avid reader and enjoys travel, tennis and good food.

 

Kent Nash

Mr. Nash is responsible for managing strategic client relationships and developing Solace’s business throughout the Americas. Nash held leadership roles in both Europe and Asia Pacific before moving to the U.S. in 2013. Prior to joining Solace, Nash held key client management positions at Newbridge Networks and Alcatel, and served for 10 years as an engineer in the British Royal Air Force.

Kin Yee Ng

Senior Vice President & Head of Market Data and Connectivity, SGX

Kin Yee is Head of the Market Data and Connectivity business which offers market data distribution, connectivity, co-location and index services.

During his past eleven years with SGX, Mr Ng headed various appointments in Technology and Project Management prior to his current role. He was involved in delivering one of the world’s fastest trading engines, migrating mainframe systems supporting key financial market infrastructures of Singapore, and rolling out enterprise-wide risk management systems.

Prior to SGX, Mr Ng was Public Sector Director at Microsoft Singapore. He was also previously president of a dotcom start-up and deputy director at Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA). At IDA, which was previously known as the National Computer Board (NCB), Mr Ng ran the Singapore ONE broadband project, an initiative to introduce the first nationwide high-speed broadband network.

Mr Ng holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and a Master of Science in Engineering, majoring in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor where he studied on a scholarship from the NCB.

Ned Phillips is the founder and CEO of Bambu, a B2B Robo-Advisory firm that offers financial and consumer brands the ability to integrate user-friendly investment offering into product range. He has been based in Asia for the past 25 years and his involvement in Fintech started since 1999 with E*TRADE as one of the very first online brokers; and soared to become Managing Director for Asia up until 2007. In 2008, Ned was then part of the transformation of the stock exchange where he helped build two pan Asian exchange, one of which was in conjunction with SGX and Chi-X. Ned has always been active in this recent wave of FinTech development and even experienced the first dot com boom with one of the original Fintech companies. Sharing his passion, Ned was appointed consultant to 8 Securities as they launched the first Robo advisor in Asia.

After gaining an insightful exposure and development over the years, he realized that the biggest demand for robo was in B2B space, and that influenced him to start Bambu.

Radha Pillay works as Strategic Accounts Director Asia Pacific at SmartStream and is responsible for working with customers across the region to improve their transaction processing efficiencies. Radha has been with SmartStream for eight years and prior to this role worked in presales and business development.

Radha has over 15 years’ industry experience in architecting and implementing STP solutions with emphasis on middle- and back-office solutions such as post-trade processing, reconciliations and business integration. Before joining SmartStream, Radha worked at financial institutions and technology vendors in Fiji, Australia and Singapore.

Luuk’s responsibilities include development and management of listed products e.g. ETFs, Structured Warrants and ADRs tradable on SGX. Furthermore Luuk is involved in strategic opportunities to expand the current product shelf for SGX.
Previously Luuk was Head of Business Development and Markets for TOM (The Order Machine) in the Netherlands, a successful new derivatives exchange with a market share of 40-50% of the Dutch market.
Luuk holds a Master of Science in Finance from Maastricht University.

Sharon joined Deutsche Asset Management in September 2014 and is Regional Head of Private Bank & Intermediaries distribution business for Asia ex-Japan. She is responsible for leading the sales efforts and development of the funds distribution business covering Private Banks, Consumer banks, discretionary managers, asset managers and other financial intermediaries. Her product coverage spans broadly across Active, Passive and Alternatives strategies.

With more than ten years of industry experience, Sharon joined from Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) where she started out in the Institutional sales team, and subsequently joined the funds distribution sales team covering Private Banks in Asia ex-Japan. She was instrumental in building out GSAM’s wholesale distribution channel in Asia from an inactive segment in 2009 to one of its fastest growing business channels in 2014. 

Prior to GSAM, Sharon was in Ernst & Young Transaction Advisory Business where she worked on mergers and acquisition, corporate finance and audit.
Sharon holds a Masters of Science in Accounting & Finance from the London School of Economic and Political Science, UK.

Phillip Yeo heads the team responsible for product development and idea generation at Nikko AM Asia. The team also oversees the administration of documentation and fund governance of the Nikko AM suite of unit trust products domiciled in Singapore, the Cayman Islands and Mauritius. He has been with the firm for more than 9 years, and brings with him over 20 years of experience in the finance and investment sector including corporate banking, private equity investing, sell-side research and corporate acquisitions.

When Phillip first joined the firm in 2006 while it was DBS Asset Management, it was to supervise the Equities Research team. A year later, he became the Head of Product Development and Management, a role he continues in to date. Over the years, he has been responsible for leading an initiative in the firm to streamline and rationalise the suite of unit trust products through a fund merger and reshaping programme, while at the same time, contributing to the firm’s growth in AUM through the launch of new products. Under his leadership, the average AUM per fund doubled as the number of funds was streamlined down from approximately 55 to 40.

A notable successful product reshape was changing a Singapore equity fund in 2011 to focus on Singapore dividend equities. The fund grew more than 10-fold over 3 years and remains one of the best-selling products on the local product shelf. Phillip was also responsible in leading and co-ordinating the launch of Nikko AM Asia High Yield Bond Fund which raised USD1.4b in 2012 and Nikko AM Chinese Bank CNH Fixed Term Investment Fund which raised USD1.2b in 2014.

Currently, Phillip serves on the board of Nikko AM Luxembourg S.A. and the Singapore Consortium Investment Management Limited. He also serves as a member of the Development Committee at the Investment Management Association of Singapore.

Phillip studied at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and graduated with honours in Business. He has a Master of Business Administration from The Imperial College in London, UK. Phillip is also a Chartered Financial Analyst with the CFA Institute and a Chartered Accountant with ISCA.
